Step into the studio. Create your sound, shape your ideas, and start making music. The Decks in the City Introduction to Music Production course is designed for complete beginners who want to learn how to produce from the ground up. This is where you get to grips with the tools, techniques and creative process behind making your own tracks. It is hands-on, practical and focused on helping you turn ideas into finished music in a supportive studio environment. What you’ll gain • Understanding of digital audio workstations and core production workflow • How to build drums, basslines and melodic elements • Introduction to sound selection and basic sound design • Arrangement and structuring of a full track • Use of effects such as EQ, compression and reverb • Understanding of tempo, rhythm and musical timing • Guidance on developing your own style and sound • Techniques for sampling and working with audio • Confidence navigating sessions and exporting your music • Insight into how tracks are prepared for release • Support from experienced producers throughout the course • A finished track to showcase what you have created

Cancellation Policy
1. Purpose This agreement sets out the terms and conditions under which DJs are engaged by Decks in the City (DITC) to perform at events, workshops, or related activities. It aims to ensure clarity, professionalism, and mutual understanding. 2. Scope This agreement applies to all DJs booked: directly by Decks in the City, or through third-party partners where Decks in the City is the lead organiser. 3. Engagement Details Specific details of the booking, including event date, location, performance time, and agreed fee, will be confirmed separately in writing and form part of this agreement. 4. DJ Responsibilities The DJ agrees to: Arrive on time and fully prepared for soundcheck and performance Deliver the agreed performance to a professional standard Comply with all venue rules, licensing conditions, and sound restrictions Follow all Decks in the City policies, including: Code of Conduct for DJs & Performers Safeguarding at Events Policy Health & Safety guidance Act professionally and respectfully towards clients, staff, performers, venue personnel, and audiences at all times 5. Conduct, Alcohol & Substances DJs must not perform while under the influence of illegal substances. Alcohol consumption must be moderate and must not impair performance, judgement, or behaviour. Any behaviour that compromises safety, safeguarding, or the reputation of Decks in the City may result in removal from the event. 6. Equipment DJs are responsible for ensuring that any personal equipment brought to an event is safe, suitable, and in good working order. Equipment provided by the venue or Decks in the City must be used responsibly and returned in good condition. Any damage caused by negligence or misuse may be the responsibility of the DJ. 7. Fees & Payment Fees will be agreed in advance and confirmed in writing. Payment terms, including invoicing requirements and timeframes, will be communicated prior to the event. Payments are subject to the DJ fulfilling the agreed engagement in line with this agreement. 8. Cancellation Cancellation by either party should be communicated as soon as possible Cancellation terms, including any fees payable, will be handled in line with the agreed booking terms. 9. Breach of Agreement In the event of a serious breach of this agreement, including but not limited to: intoxication during performance harassment, abusive or discriminatory behaviour illegal substance use safeguarding violations refusal to comply with reasonable
