The Decks in the City Introduction to DJ course is designed for complete beginners who are ready to get started properly. This is where you learn the foundations of DJing in a real studio environment, using professional equipment, guided step by step. It is practical, hands-on and focused on building confidence as much as skill. What you’ll gain • Core DJ skills including beatmatching, phrasing and EQ control • Understanding of track structure and how to build a mix • Confidence using club-standard equipment • Introduction to Rekordbox and music preparation • Use of cue points, loops and basic FX • The ability to plan and record a short DJ mix • Development of your own music taste and style • Support in selecting and organising your tracks • Experience mixing across different genres and tempos • Guidance from experienced DJs in a supportive environment • A clear understanding of how DJs perform in real settings • A live performance to showcase what you have learned
